My Stuff

These books aren’t lies.

In yellowed pages, contain physical &
emotional battles I, thanks to some unanswered
god or devil;

Survived.

My own limitations did not
allow my attempts at death worthwhile
to convey personally.

But there was always the notebook.

Words never judged-- even during
suicide attempts…

Lost days, where
tears shredded my soul to ribbons.

Pen and paper—always handy.

Drunken escapes
Cocaine highs—oh lord, leaving
me flying on devious octane.

But the comedown…
Always the comedown…

Never justified the tragedy of
waking up the
next morning.

So, my stuff is more
than marginal confessions.

Many sentences contain a last gasp.

I guess for today,
I will say no more.
