The Believer

I've gotten my wings
Watching the airplanes go by
There's nothing on me
Making the wheel spin
Existence isn't easy for me
Whenever I'm alone
I'm not afraid of the dark

Light up the candles
Switch, sway, breathe, move
Take the diamonds off my back
Let me eat the world
Like I'm getting connected
Booming into the night
Sticks like melted wax

Better to be a snake
Than to be a poet
No hard feelings no regrets
Someone find pity on me
Copping out on me
This is the pain I feel
Only thing that I know

Painting by Gene McCormick

I'll Call on the Morning
(Based on "I Think I'll Call It Morning" by Gil Scott-Heron)

I'll fly to the sunshine
I'll wait for the stars
I'll listen to the birds
Watch the clouds go by
I was born with dreams
There'll be no more rain
I'll keep holding on

I'll call on the morning
Bless my body and soul
Hold on to what's there
I don't mind waiting
Smash all of the hate
I'll call on the morning
I was born with big ideas

I'll fly to the sunshine
Listen and wait for the moon
Dip my feet in the water
Maybe I'll swim again
I'll wait for the stars
I'll wait for the birds
I'll call on the morning

Painting by Gene McCormick

Fingertips Part 3

Move myself in to dance
I'm ready to let go
Loud like a heavy metal drummer
I'm ready to let go

Send me on a rocket in space
I'm ready to let go
I'd eat salty peanuts drink beer
I'm ready to let go

Feel so high off the ground
I'm ready to let go
Feeling beautiful and stoned
I'm ready to let go

Ready to cook on my spoon
I'm ready to let go
I'm the drummer and the bassist
I'm ready to let go

Sometimes I pretend I'm Stevie Wonder
I'm ready to let go
Or another MC on the mic
I'm ready to let go
