Another Life-Story

She said she was from
Oklahoma, many different places
in Oklahoma

Where she washed-down horses &
polished saddles for the
many parades

People urged her to go out to
California where
there was a parade every other day

I gave her five bucks extra
while she put on her clothes&
gulped down a stale beer

Thank you sir!  & then she left

By noon the sun stampedes over
the big Hollywood sign;
another five brews in

The Santa Monica Hills, no sign of
a parade anywhere
