some mystery strong enough to break down any wall

too good to be
true just walked
in and said hello
to you

does the cynic Artwork by Gene McCormick
asshole answer
first

or does her
beautiful eyes
possess some
mystery strong
enough to break
down any wall

you wisely take
a drink first

the next thing to
come out of your
mouth could be
what changes the
rest of your life

this is the part
of the poem
where every
teenage boy
wants to know
what the fuck
did he say

and some wise
old soul will
look over and
say

once you live
through the
mistakes

you’ll know

sometimes there has to be blood

i’m sure anyone looking
from afar would laugh
at the sight of a near 40
year old fat ass apathy
riddled poet chatting up
a 28 year old beautiful
bad ass ride or die chick

but therein lies the
problem with humanity

too many people settle
for judging from the
outside

while the successful
people on this planet
understand that
sometimes there has
to be blood

a knife to cut deep

be willing to get your
hands dirty and peel
back the layers

enjoy the mystery
held within

J.J. Campbell (1976 - soon) has given up the farm life and is now trapped in suburbia. He's been widely published over the years, much to the anger of most. You can find him most days bitching about things only he cares about on his blog, evil delights.http://evildelights.blogspot.com
