People with a future
instead
of a fence.inner-city slum, the relaxed dive
consciences hibernate there
fumes of cigarettes, booze, meth, dried
sweat-stink, grease-stained blankets
homeless misfits with measured oblivions,
the hunger abides in all dimensions,
punctuated only by upheavals
and sometimes, you know, I miss itnote above Cafe Luna’s toilet
<with customer add-ons>
Please don’t flush:
tampons, <your career> pads, diapers,
paper towels, <underwear>
cups, <your integrity> <plants> trash,
<computers> <dignity>
<hope> <dreams> <love>
only T. P. peet poo.
<flush your greed>
thank you.
<fear is ok> <so is trump>
