Decline

We declined a little each day
the individual
the collective
more sit-coms appeared
before us
and books disappeared
from shelves        
another person discovered
twitter
another child lost
cursive 
we closed the door
we stepped off the curb
we followed the curve

 

Dennis Herrell has been writing poetry for more than forty years,
and intends to do so as long as he can coherently think.
Hopefully, he will die with a new poem in his hand.
